中国五金制品协会成立于1988年11月，是经原轻工业部批准、民政部注册登记的具有法人资格的社会经济团体，拥有近3000个会员单位，由我国日用五金、工具五金、建筑五金方面的重点企业，地方五金协会，地方五金工业公司，科研设计单位等组成，是跨地区、跨部门、跨所有制的行业组织。协会下设九个分会：分别是工具五金分会、建筑五金分会、日用五金分会、燃气具分会、不锈钢制品分会、锁具分会、烹饪炊具分会、吸排油烟机分会、拉链分会。协会的宗旨是在国家法律、法令指导下，发挥政府和企业之间的桥梁和纽带作用，及时反映会员的要求和愿望，为会员单位服务，维护会员的合法权益，传达政府的意图并协助政府部门进行行业管理，促进五金行业的发展。中国五金制品协会是国际五金联合会（IHA）的成员单位，愿与世界各地五金制品产业协会和厂家建立良好的合作关系，促进经济、贸易业务的发展。中国五金行业有1600多种产品。2003年五金制品产值超过2000亿元，出口超过160亿美元。日用五金的主要产品有：烹饪炊具、锁具、燃气用具、不锈钢制品、厨房设备、吸排油烟机、多功能切碎机、洗碗机、各种理发美容器具、铁锅、刀剪、保险柜、拉链、手电筒、打火机、缝衣针等。工具五金的主要产品有：各种扳手、钳类、旋具、锉刀、锯类、锤子、斧子、卷尺、园艺工具、随车工具、建筑工具、防爆工具、小型电动工具、各种砂布、砂带等。建筑五金的主要产品有：卫生间五金配件、各种钉、丝、网、阀门、水嘴和玛钢管件，金属门窗及其五金配件等。理事长：张东立副理事长：何培建 潘泽明 林光中 解维坤 杜长棣 石僧兰 马小平 苏增福 崔承毅 周克新 沈国强 朱文江 邹国营 黄松桂 周大虎秘书长：石僧兰（兼）副秘书长：吕基英 柳润峰 孟凡波 金立新

    Ratified by the State Light Industry Bureau and registered in Ministry of Civil Affairs, China National Hardware Association (CNHA) was founded in November 1988 as a legal entity. CNHA has nearly 3000 members, including key enterprises of daily-use hardware tools hardware and corporations, scientific research and design institutes. It is a trans-regional,trans-department and trans-ownership organization. Under of CNHA, there are nine branches: Gas Appliances branch, Stainless Steel Product branch, Lock branch, Cooking utensils branch, Smoke Ejector branch, Zipper branch, Daily-Use Hardware branch, Tools Hardware branch, and Building Hardware branch. Under the guidance of state laws and decrees, its aim and purpose is to play a linking role between the government and CNHA members, represent desires and demands of the members, safeguard legal rights and interests of the members, pass on the intention of the government to the members, assist the government in trade administration, and promote the development of hardware industry. CNHA as a member of International Federation of Hardware and House wares Associations (IHA) is willing to establish good cooperative relationships with hardware associations and manufacturers worldwide, and to promote economic and trade cooperation. It has more than 1600 varieties of products. It is an important department of china light industry with production value of over 200 billion RMB yuan and export value of over 16 billion USD in 2003. It has developed into a fully-grown industrial and exporting system in respect of its production,scientific research, marketing etc., and has made an important contribution to flourish the market, enrich abundant supply and increase foreign exchange earnings. Daily-use hardware as cooking uteusil products (pressure pot, no-adhesion pot, household utensils), locks, gas appliances and stoves, stainless steel products, commercial and household kitchen installations,exhaust hoods, multifunctional cutters, dishwashers, hairdressing appliances, iron pots, knives and scissors, safety cabinets, filling cabinets, zippers, flash lights, lighters, needles, etc. Tools hardware as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers,files, saws, hammers, axes, measuring tapes, farm and garden implements, service tools for cars, builder's tools, no sparking tools, machines and tools for decoration, emery papers and belts etc. Building hardware as toilet accessories,nails, cables, wire meshes, valves, faucets, cast iron pipe-fittings, metal door and window frames with accessories etc. The council of the association is composed of some 170 key enterprises and is the highest decision making unit.
